A2C James F. Alexander - served with the 606th CAMS / 27th FIS at Griffiss in 1957 and then served at Loring AFB from
Oct 7, 1959 until June 1960, passed away in an automobile accident in 1960, buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia.

Lt.Col. Lou Alford - USAF Retired - then-Major Alford served at Loring AFB in 1972-1974, passed away in 1983.

Winston L. Bennett - served and lived at Loring AFB. He passed away January 21, 2014, and is buried in York, Alabama.

A1C Paul D. Binette  - served with the 42nd OMS from 1962 to 1966 and passed away Jan 2014.

Cindy Barnes Bosley - wife of MSgt. Dennis Bosley, USAF retired, passed away April 7, 2007. Cindy is a native of Caribou,
Maine and is buried in the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery in Caribou.

MSgt. Ralph Brennan - USAF Retired - a First Sergeant for many years of the 42 Trans Sq. in the late 80's and early 90's.
Passed away in Limestone in 2005.

Col. William C. Brewer - Deputy Base Commander, Loring AFB (SAC) 1973-1975, passed away after an automobile accident in
Sugarland, TX on Sept.17, 2008 at the age of 85.  He served in WWII B-17, Korea Douglas B-26, Cold War B-52, and Vietnam
B-52 as a pilot.  Last Duty post after 32 years of service, Loring AFB 1975.

Kenneth C. Brush - stationed at Loring in 1957-1960, passed away in November, 2009.

SSgt. Terry L. Bunnell - Loring AFB 42nd MMS 1986-1992, passed away February 7, 2008.  Buried in the Wells River
Cemetery in Wells River, Vermont.

married Lt. Ruth Malone (later Chaffee) of Loring AFB, passed away in June, 2008, and is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery,
Delaware, Ohio.

SSgt. James J. Couch - 42nd Armament and Electronics Maintenance Squadron

TSgt. Otha B. Covington - 42nd Security Police Squadron - served at Loring from November, 1977 to March, 1989, passed
away in October, 1995 in Warrensburg, MO.  He is survived by his wife, Ruby, son Andrae' and daughter Niesje.

MSgt. Giles W. Crewey - USAF Retired - then-Sgt. Crewey passed away in 1996 and is buried in Houston National Cemetery,
Texas.

Gregory F. Horskey - 42nd Combat Defense Squadron, D Flight Security during 1964-1968. Greg was born on January 10,1947
and died on December 6, 2008 in Pompton Lakes, NJ. Greg was a member of the Loring Ramp Rats prior to his death.

Lt. Col. Katherine Kennedy - then-Captain Kennedy was assigned to the Loring legal office in 1980. Lt. Col. Kennedy passed
away in 1996 and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia.

SSgt. Stephen J. Kennedy - 42nd Security Police Squadron, 1970-1971, was killed by a drunk driver on September 3, 1997, in
Orlando, Florida.

MSgt. David B. Knickerbocker -  USAF Retired, of Limestone, Maine, passed away in May, 2001

SSgt. Lawrence H. Lemire - Loring AFB - early 1960s - served about 35 years in the Navy Reserve, Army Air Corp (8th AF
WWII), Korean War, and retired as a SMSgt. from Mather Air Force Base in the 70's.  He was stationed at Itazuke AFB, Loring
AFB, Beale AFB, Kincheloe AFB and Mather AFB. He passed away on March 27, 2006, and is buried at The San Joaquin National
Cemetery, Merced County, California, in Section 1.

Lt. Col. Clyde R Linnell - stationed at Loring starting in 1966 until May, 1969, in airplane maintenance. He passed away October
4, 2006 and is buried in Beale Memorial Cemetery, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

A1C Stephen T. Lion - 42nd CES - died while on duty June, 1985 at Loring AFB, buried in Philadelphia, PA.

Francis L. Lopopolo - 42nd Airborne Missile Maintenance Squadron

MSGT David R. Lusardi - Passed away July 31,2012.  David is survived by his wife Linda, four sons: Scott, Todd, Mark, and
Brad, five grandchildren: Laura, Eric, Lauren, Cameron, and Logan.  He was stationed at Loring for 20 of his 28 years in the
service.  He helped and touched so many people while he was here and will be missed by many.

Andrew "Andy" Petron - 42nd Airborne Missile Maintenance Squadron - from Mount Union, Pennsylvania - Served at Loring
Air Force Base, 1962-1966 - passed away in July of 1992.  His son, Michael, would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone who

SSgt. Kenneth Pirowski - 42nd CES - (1982? - 1988?) - passed tragically in an industrial accident on October 12th, 1989 in
Buffalo, NY.  He is buried in his home town of Lackawanna, NY. Prior to his service at Loring, Ken was stationed at Nellis AFB in
NV.  Ken's infectious smile, warm heart, and sense of community spirit is missed by many.  

SMSgt. Arthur J. Plante, Jr. - USAF Retired - 42nd Combat Support Group - passed away in July, 2006 and is buried in the
Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery in Caribou, Maine.

Ralph Porter - worked in Supply from the opening until he retired in 1985.  He passed away in June, 2010.

Col. Daniel W. Riordan, B-17 to B-52 warrior pilot passed away Nov. 10, 2012 in Port Charlotte, Florida, after a magnificent life
lived by himself for his family and Country.

SSgt. James L. Rogers - USAF Retired - served with the aircraft refueling squadron - passed away in December, 2004 and is
buried in the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery in Caribou, Maine.

Sgt. Mark Rudy - 42nd Civil Engineering Squadron - worked in Railroad Operations 1970-1972.

TSgt. David T. Santaw - Vietnam Veteran, USAF Retired - 42nd Security Police Squadron & Law Enforcement - served at
Loring 4 times: 1960-63: 3080th Aviation Depot Group (later East Loring), 1966, 1969-70, 1978-82, being stationed at Goose Bay
AFB, Tan Son Nhut, Vietnam: 377th Security Police Squadron 1966-67, U-Tapao, Thailand, Otis AFB, MA, Offutt AFB, NE,
Plattsburgh AFB, NY, and Clark AFB, Philippines, in between. He retired from Loring AFB in 1982 as Superintendent of Law
Enforcement. He was a proud member of the Loring Ramp Rats, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 3, Veterans of Foreign
Wars Post 2571, and the Tan Son Nhut Association. He passed away on February 2, 2011 in Wilder, Vermont, leaving his wife of
41 years, Emily, his three children & their spouses, 7 grandchildren, and a sister.

MSgt. Cleve Schoel - 3080th APS and 42nd CDS as Security Superintendent 1957-1963.  He passed away on Jan 2, 2002. He
lived in Caribou and loved his time at Long Lake.

Jim See - C-flight 1962-1966, from Winchester,VA, passed away several years ago.

SSgt. Prentice R. Sherwood - served as a cook at Loring from 1970-1971. He passed away from congestive heart failure on
May 12, 1992 in Pride, Louisiana.

SSgt. Henry T. Spivey - 3080th Aviation Depot Group's Support Squadron (later East Loring), a Senior Baker, 1955-1960 - a
22-year veteran of the Air Force, born in Hertford, North Carolina in 1923, passed away on January 19, 2000. He is buried in
Cedarwood Cemetery in Hertford, North Carolina. His name is also on a memorial brick walk at Perquimans County Courthouse in
Hertford, a memorial to U.S. Veterans from the county.

31, 2013. He is buried in the Maine Veterans Cemetery in Caribou.

SSgt. Alpha Suire - a 14 year veteran of the Air Force whose last assignment was at the USAF Hospital at Loring AFB in the late
50's and Early 60's. He was a Med Tech. He left the Air Force in 1962 and remained in Northern Maine residing in Caswell.
During the 80's he worked as a Civilian in the AGE Branch and later for a contractor as a grounds keepers until the base closure.
He was buried Thursday July 17th, 2008, at the Maine Veterans Cemetery in Caribou.

SSgt. John I. Way, Sr. - USAF Retired - 42nd Combat Support Group at Loring from June 1969 to June 1971. Previous to
Loring, he served in Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Germany, Vietnam again, Sheppard AFB, and finally Loring,
after which he retired to
Delaware, staying near Dover AFB, passed away in March of 2003 and is buried in The Delaware Veterans Cemetery in Millsboro,
Delaware.

Evelyn M. Willey - of Harrington, Maine, wife of Alonzo C. Willey Sr., passed away in December, 2005, and is buried in
Prospect Harbor Cemetery, Gouldsboro, Maine.

MSgt. Ray Wonder - then-Sargent, Loring AFB Flight Chief, passed away in 1987 or 1988, we believe, at Loring AFB, ME, and
is buried in Fort Hill Cemetery, Lynchburg, VA.
